Gently Used Equipment

As a service the Glenna Harris Weavers Guild lists equipment from weavers and spinners in Northern California that may need a new home. Contact information is provided. Interested parties may deal directly with the seller on price and arrangements. Items will be posted for a month or until sold, whichever comes first.

If you are interested in listing equipment, please contact glennaharrisweb (at) gmail (dot) com. Include loom details such as number of shafts and treadles, width, brand, loom type, price and location as well as information on how you would like to be contacted and photos if available.

Other good places to post used weaving equipment include Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and the used equipment marketplace on homesteadweaver.com

Here’s a guide for selecting and using a weaving loom from Interweave Press.

Things are worth what they will fetch at a sale.

54″ Bergman Folding Loom Needs a New Home!

A lovely little loom in San Carlos awaits its next owner. This is a four-shaft, countermarch loom that was designed to fold up so it could be transported, (See write up about Margaret and John Bergman and their looms under “Resources->Historical Information” on the Eugene Textile Center site.) Folded, the loom is 54” wide, 49.5” high and 20” in depth. When open and ready to weave, the depth is 45”. Like many table looms, this floor loom is designed to hold the warp in place while it is folded and transported.

The loom needs new heddles.(Its string heddles are still there, but they are very old.) It also needs some TLC. But the design is ingenious! There is one reed; no bench. (Ergonomically, you could easily sit in an office chair adjusted to your height to weave.)

The family would like to give it to someone who will use and enjoy it. If you are interested, please contact Betsy Blosser at bblosser@sfsu.edu.
